Sanur Harbour Guide — Everything You Need to Know
Sanur Harbour, also called Pelabuhan Sanur, is a departure point for fast boats to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan. A smooth connection starts with knowing your operator, departure time and check-in instructions before you reach the waterfront.
Finding Sanur Harbour
The harbour is by the northern end of Sanur Beach, near Jalan Hang Tuah. Enter Pelabuhan Sanur or Sanur Harbour as your destination when arranging a car; simply entering Sanur may take you to another part of the neighbourhood. Allow for road traffic and the walk from drop-off to your operator's counter.
Getting there from elsewhere in Bali
If you are staying outside Sanur, your transfer is a separate part of the journey unless your booking specifically includes pickup. You can arrange a car yourself or choose a combined hotel-pickup-and-boat package. Compare pickup windows and the operator's check-in deadline, especially if you are travelling from Ubud or west-coast areas.
- Set the harbour, rather than the wider Sanur area, as your drop-off point.
- Allow extra road time during busy periods and for early departures.
- Check whether your ticket includes transport from your accommodation.
Boats to Nusa Penida and Nusa Lembongan
Different operators serve the islands, and schedules can change. Check the destination harbour as well as the island name on your ticket, particularly if someone is meeting you on arrival. For a day trip, make sure a suitable return sailing is available before deciding how many stops to plan.
Check-in and boarding
Follow the operator and check-in details on your confirmation rather than assuming every boat uses the same counter. Keep your ticket and any identification requested by the operator accessible. Arrive with enough time to find the counter, check your bags and follow boarding instructions.
- Save your ticket or booking reference where you can open it without mobile data.
- Confirm your boat operator's counter and check-in deadline.
- Listen for your operator's boarding call and keep your luggage with you.
What to bring for the crossing
Take water, sun protection and a light layer for the journey. If you are sensitive to motion, prepare for changing sea conditions. For a day trip, pack only what you need on the island and keep important documents and medication in a small bag you can carry yourself.

Before your crossing
Sea conditions can change. Check the forecast and warnings for your local waters, then confirm your departure with the boat operator; a forecast does not guarantee a sailing.
